Chapter 7
Disappearance: Gloria
I half expected Fierce to chase me, and Iâd have to scream or yell at him, and then tell him that I couldnât do this.
He didnât though. Maybe he stayed back because he knew that if he fought this, he and the rest of the guys would be in danger too.
That was the last thing I wanted to do to them. Fierce and the guys were too good, too nice to me.
I didnât want to drag them down to this hellhole of a world.
They didnât need to know the truth of the Don, how he didnât care about anyone but himself, how the bastard wanted me dead, and I didnât have any way of stopping him.
So I ran.
Where I would go, fuck if I knew, but I had clothes. I had shoes on my feet. I could figure out a place to go.
I thought about possibly staying at the MC, and maybe seeing if they could help me get on my feet, but I didnât want to do that.
There was one thing that I could do. It wouldnât be much, but for a couple of years, I danced at a club. I had a fake ID and everything, since I was almost seventeen at the time, and now that I was an adult, maybe this would work.
I decided to check out the club that I hadnât worked at, some place called The Kinky Plum.
They let me audition, and things seemed to look good for them. They offered me daytime, which wasnât much, but it would suffice. I didnât have jack shit to go with, but they had a couple of old pieces of lingerie to work with.
I managed to keep this up for a bit, working in one of the seedy, underground clubs. The Kinky Plum was on the outskirts of town, nowhere near Jacintoâs place. If they did find me, it would be a rarity.
At first, it absolutely sucked. I was barely getting by, but after two months, a couple of the guys started to spoil me more. I went into hiding, at first staying at the club whenever I could. I hid in the bathroom, sleeping in one of the stalls. That is, until a bouncer found me.
They offered me a couple places to crash. I decided to stay with Dolly, one of the dancers that worked there. When I stayed with her, I was finally able to get a hot shower, sleep in a bed, and get back on my feet. Dolly was a saint; she never mentioned anything or asked questions. In a sense, she seemed to be the type who knew better than to meddle in the affairs of others, for which I was grateful.
I felt like things might be looking up, as I continued to dance in the club, and made some money. It was nothing like what I was making prior to getting kicked out from Don Jacintoâs business, but it helped me get by.
And not to mention, there was also no future with Fierce.
